Storopack produces EPP components for the automotive industry which are designed to improve passive safety and in-vehicle passenger protection.
EPP offers excellent energy-absorbing characteristics and good elastic recovery. Fenders at the front end, absorbers, headrests, foot inlays, paneling and other impact absorbers made of this material absorb energy in case of a crash and so enhance safety in the vehicle. If EPP is additionally combined with metals, even greater amounts of energy can be absorbed and distributed.
Due to its low weight, EPP helps make vehicles lighter and so saves fuel. This makes it a truly future-proof material which supports the trend toward environmentally friendly motoring.
Using EPP, wide-ranging different geometries can be implemented, such as seat inlays for improved comfort or tool boxes designed to precisely accommodate breakdown sets.
Visible surfaces of the particle foam can be laminated with film or fabric.
On principle, depending on the application and requirements, a molded part density of appr. 25g/l to appr. 180g/l can be produced.
Certifications to ISO 9001 and TS 16949 guarantee full system and process quality for series production in the automotive industry for our customers.
Expandable polypropylene is composed of 95 % air and only 5 % polypropylene. ARPRO® is produced without CFCs (Chlorofluorocarbons) and HCFCs (Hydrochlorofluorocarbons). Its light weight helps to save fuel during transport. As a result of multiple uses material can be saved. ARPRO® is fully recyclable. Disposal into established recycle circuits helps to reduce use of virgin raw material.
